| The microscope is mounted on a carriage which slides up and down on a vertical pillar having a scale length of 14 cm. This vertical pillar in turn is mounted on a horizontal carriage sliding in V grooves on a cast iron base with leveling screws. Both the carriages have slow motion lead screws for fine adjustment. The horizontal scale is up to 165 mm. The microscope is focused by rack and pinion and has achromatic objective of 50 mm focal length and eye piece with cross line graticule. The microscope tube can be set vertically or horizontally. Both the verniers on horizontal as well as on vertical scale read to .01 mm; supplied with sturdy wooden box. |
